Description:

The Modular Static Flush Port (MSFP) provides Indicated Static Pressure (Ps) with either a fully integrated or remotely located Air Data Unit (ADU), which performs the pneumatic to digital signal conversion.  The MSFP features rugged lightweight construction coupled with a highly accurate and stable pressure signal making it suitable for the most demanding commercial or military environments.  The compact modular design is ideally suited for all aircraft, particularly “after-market” and UAV applications where installation volume is constrained.

Operation:

The MSFP is mounted to the aircraft surface via a user specified flush skin plate machined to tolerances in keeping with the most stringent signature requirements.  The MSFP may be utilized in a stand-alone capacity, providing primary or back-up indicated static pressure measurements, or may be integrated with other MSFP’s to provide a total system solution for air data including angle-of-attack (AoA), angle-of-sideslip (AoS), Ps, and total pressure (Pt).  The modular features of the MSFP allow many possible user specified configurations.  In the fully integrated configuration, the MSFP may be removed and serviced as a single Line Replaceable Unit (LRU), eliminating the need for pneumatic leak checks.  In the alternative, remotely locating the ADU allows full installation or retrofit flexibility and may accommodate multiple port skin plates as a user option.

Each flush port consists of multiple orifices, which are ported to a highly accurate and stable pressure transducer via a common plenum.  Ice protection is provided via a self-regulating skin plate heater with total power determined by user specified anti/de-icing requirements and mounting location.  Power requirements provided herein assume a nominal flush fuselage mounting location.
